2008 Year in Review
Looking back at 2008 as being my first full year as a dedicated finance blogger, I have been able to publish over 100 posts across multiple finance topics. I am very happy with how far I have come with this blog, keeping me dedicated to my goals and continually improving my financial knowledge.
From a financial perspective:
The 2008 Income Statement for Finance Puzzle shows that I generated $2,731.85 through all of my initiatives. My savings segment contributed $1,250.90 or 45.8%. Around $750 was provided in blog earnings from various sources, and the remaining portion of $686.86 was driven by all of the online selling actions I participated in with Ebay, Craigslist and Gazelle.
This income helped my come close to finalizing my CD Ladder, which I am expecting will be complete in April 2009 due to the duration of the CD’s. From there, I will look to start saving for my next goal.
The non-financial 2008 accomplishments include:
- Switching my blog to a self hosted Wordpress setup with setup of some customize themes.
- Increasing my RSS subscribers to approximately 50.
- Awareness and improvement of my Alexa ranking.
I would like to thank you for being a part of the success of this blog in 2008 and I look forward to seeing what 2009 will bring for this blog.
