Coinstar Promo adds to my net worth
I would like to thank Jonathan at MyMoneyBlog for highlighting the recent Coinstar holiday promotion. I am a big fan of putting my spare change in a jar each day and depositing this when it reaches a sizable amount. As I was reading MyMoneyBlog one day, I noticed that Coinstar was giving you $10 for every $40 deposited, that is a 25% risk-free return. With this deal being too good to pass up, I took my spare change jar over to the closest Coinstar machine and converted $130 of loose coin into Amazon.com gift certificates. Knowing the holidays were coming up, I just recently used this eCertificate to pay for some family gifts.
I filled out the rebate paperwork and am waiting for the $20 Amazon gift certificates in the mail. That is right, I completed two Coinstar transactions one under my name and the other under my wife’s name. I know the rules say one rebate per household, so I decided to try and test the limits. I will let you know if I was successful in capturing two rebate gift certificates.
In similar fashion to previous posts, I will deposit the $130 in loose change to my net worth account. Once I receive the $20, $10 or no promotion dollars from Coinstar, that too will be deposited in this account.
