How to save by buying diapers online
As our new bundle of joy has arrived, so have the frequent diaper changes…each diaper change kind of reminds me of how my portfolio is performing. As we expect to change at least six diapers a day, I want to maximize how much we can save with a little planning and research. After reviewing three online sites, I have concluded that Amazon has the best deal without even taking the subscribe and save option into account.
So to review and compare the sites, I was looking to purchase the Huggies 152Ct Gentle Care Supreme diapers. I know there are lower end brands available, but I am not looking to sacrifice on comfort/quality.
Site #1. Diapers.com: It makes total sense to start here since the site name is exactly what we are looking for. On this site, 152 diapers sell for $33.99 or $0.22 each which doesn’t include shipping and taxes. Shipping runs $4.99 and taxes are only charged in PA, NJ, NY, KS, NV
Site #2 Babies R Us: At this well-known baby supercenter website, 152 diapers also sell for $33.99 or $0.22 each which doesn’t include shipping and taxes. Shipping runs slightly higher coming in at $8.00 and I am unsure of which states are subject to taxes.
Site #3 Amazon.com: Lastly, you can buy 160 (2 packs of 80) diapers for $31.04 or $0.19 each which doesn’t include shipping and taxes. Since this is over $25, shipping is free and I am unsure of which states are subject to taxes. If you select the subscribe and save option, you can save another 15% on your purchase, making that $0.16 per diaper.
I know there are probably other brands of similar quality and are available at popular discount chains such as Costco or Wal-Mart, but I am trying to fall into a paralysis analysis situation. If these diapers work great for me and family, I don’t want to change what isn’t broke….just looking to save some money before the next gift arrives from our baby.

Hi Elias,
Thanks for including Diapers.com in your list! I just wanted to add a little detail to help you and your readers out. First, Diapers.com offers free 2-day shipping (and it’s overnight in about half the country!) on all $49+ orders. So if you have just a little more in your shopping cart, you’re all set – in fact, most of our customers don’t pay for shipping. Plus – no lines, no fighting to get the kids into the car.
Also, in terms of tax, diapers are only taxable in KS, NV, and some areas of NY (excluding NYC); in the other areas that you mentioned (including New York City), diapers are non-taxable.
If you have any questions, you can always feel free to reach out to us at CustomerCare@diapers.com.
Regards,
Matt

Congratulation on your new addition! Have you ever ordered from Diapers.com? In addition to free shipping with a $49 purchase, you can use a coupon (promotional) code: drybb
That is good for $10 off of your first order only. If you do the same calculation, assuming that you order 2 packages of the size 1 Huggies, it also works out to about 19 cents per diaper.
Diapers.com’s claim to fame is fast shipping, and I can attest to that. They usually take about 1-2 days. In one case my order was delivered in less than 24 hours.

Matt and DRYBB,
Thanks for the comments…I haven’t purchased anything from Diapers.com yet, but based on the comments with the promo code, shipping time, and potential free shipping, I will be looking into it..Do you know if Diapers.com has a subscription option to make it easier for refills?

Hi Elias,
While we’ll send you a reminder email when we think it might be time to reorder, our customers have told us that they’d prefer that we not auto-ship. Babies grow into new sizes at different rates, and consume varying number of diapers; we don’t want to accidentally auto-ship the incorrect items.
However, our goal is to make the lives of new parents such as yourself just a little bit easier. One way we try is to make it super-easy for you to reorder your favorites. After your first order, when you come back to Diapers.com, you’ll see a customized home page with easy reorder functionality.
By the way, many congratulations on your new arrival!
