WVVI is a nice addition to my portfolio
During the last week, I have been able to open a new position in a stock that I have blogged about in the past. Over the past few years, I have become very familiar with the price action of the illiquid micro cap stock Williamette Valley Vineyard Inc. (WVVI).
As my cash balance has been increasing in my portfolio, I decided to invest a small amount in WVVI for a pre-defined 10% gain to $4.00 range. Although I will not be completing a full value analysis on this purchase, I feel very comforable that I will be able to capture a short term gain of 10% while beating out the S&P 500 index in the same time period. This conclusion is soley based on the recent Price to Sales ratio range that this stock has traded in the past.
Transaction Summary:
Purchased 222 shares at $3.60, for a cost basis of $810.15 including trading fees.
S&P 500 level at the time of purchase: 1,109.24
I have added this position in the Finance Puzzle portfolio.
Author disclosure: I am long shares of WVVI.

I think to better answer your question we need to know what you intend to do with your portfolio. Are you trying to book commercial clients or get a job at a newspaper. It makes a great deal of difference to how your portfolio is selected and presented.

A portfolio, traditionally is a folder that contains the best examples of your work. However these day the idea of a portfolio has expanded to include the use of photographic slides or digital images of work on a disc. When applying to a university, submitting work for competitions, or in dealing with a client it is easier to use good photographic representation of the work.

The technique is only important because it is important that you can replicate your style and time, any where. They should not be a compilation of your “best” accidents.

You can start off with their free hosting plan and upgrade to the paid plans if your website grows. They also give you the option to use your own domain or get a free one, and have a great support team..

An employer usually conducts a phone interview to narrow down their choices. If they are still interested, they will ask you to come down for a face to face interview. When you do your phone interview, please be in a room where you will not be disturbed, do not have the tv or radio is on. Also, do not eat, chew gum, etc.
